Magnus Kuschel is the managing director for the Volvo initiative of Commute Greener!  Magnus has extensive experience in leading global business development activities with innovative transport solutions as a speciality. He has been living and working in Brazil, India, Germany, UK and many other places with succesful results contributing to his track record. 

Kieren has over 15 years experience working in environmental management within the electronics and recycling sectors. Presently he is responsible for product safety, environmental management, export controls, and technical information security at Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (the company responsible for marketing, distributing, and selling PlayStation(R) products accross all PAL TV markets worldwide). He has an Engineering Doctorate in Environmental Technology and continues to be engaged in active research and publishing as an Affiliate of Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies. 

Mark Beattie has served as Chief Information Officer at LondonWaste Ltd for ten years. LondonWaste provide recycling and waste management services to local authorities, businesses and other organizations from location in North London. Mark is also a member of the executive of the ‘Law and IT’ group of the BCS. He also serves as a Magistrate in North London

 

John Linwood is the Chief Technology Officer for the BBC, and he sits within the Future Media and Technology Division.

He took up the role in April 2009, and is responsible for delivering the BBC's technology strategy, in a role which encompasses the delivery and management of the broadcast and enterprise technology infrastructure behind all BBC output and overseeing the Corporation's IT requirements.

In 2006, Truska decided to change career path so she could better express her personal values in a professional environment, and is now the Head of Corporate Responsibility and Climate Change at AXA Insurance. She is now a leading voice in corporate climate change and is focused on programmes that encourage behaviour change in the workplace which also lead to more informed choices at home and in the wider community.

Steven joined Siemens from the Home Office in 2009, in the role of Strategic Planner: focusing specifically on the development of environmental sustainability in IT and shared services, with a focus on the Public Sector.
Having originally worked in the paper industry, he held various roles across Europe with the Stora Group.

Paolo Bertoldi has a Doctor Degree in Electrical Engineering in 1985 at the University of Padova (Italy). He has been working with the European Commission since 1986. From 1986 to 1993 he was working in the EU nuclear fusion project, Joint Undertaking Torus (JET) in the UK. For 1993 until April 2001, he was Administrator with the European Commission, DG Energy and Transport (DG TREN, Brussels Belgium), in charge of EU regulatory and voluntary programmes for the rational use of energy in end-use equipment, buildings and industry.

Matthew has worked in Sustainability for over a decade delivering sustainability based solutions in sectors ranging from, Local Authority (public), Corporate (private multi-national), Environmental Consultancy and Small & Medium Sized Enterprises. He joined HSBC in 2005 and has worked in both operational and strategic roles in the UK and now resides in Group Corporate Sustainability.

As Head of Business and Industry Relations for the last 6 years, Dax manages WWF-UK's business engagement strategy while identifying opportunities for converging business and environmental interests. This involves developing partnership approaches within a number of priority sectors, supporting WWF’s convening of various businesses and devising campaigns that challenge unsustainable practices.

Saverio Romeo focuses on monitoring and analyzing emerging trends, technologies and market behavior in the mobile and wireless communications in Western and Eastern Europe. He also studies the impact of EU regulation and government technology policies on the mobile industry, and applications of mobile technologies in vertical markets.

Ben has worked for over 13 years in business consulting delivering business improvement, cost reduction and efficiency gains. An engineering graduate from the University of Birmingham, Ben has worked in the UK and abroad across many sectors of the economy. His clients include: United Utilities, Stora Enso, Wagon, Tereos, Sony Entertainment, Vodafone, Orange, Corus Group, Office Friendly Dealer Association and the BBC.

 

Mrs McGregor was named by Computer Weekly as one of the most significant drivers of Green ICT in the western world. She is The United Nations Agency ITU T JCA Green ICT Liaison Officer to the OECD, EC and EU uniting efforts to promote and sustain International cooperation, best practice and standards.  She works with a number of International climate change and environmental groups including Global Action Plan European Leaders in IT (ELIT), The US EPEAT Green Electronics Council and the UK WEEE Directive sub group for the re-use and resale of electronic goods among other interests.

Ashley Davis is a Managing Director with JPMorgan Chase. Ashley has responsibility for the firms Datacenter Strategy and Architecture; additionally Ashley is the stakeholder for their global Technology Sustainability Initiative. Ashley has an MSc in Intelligent Building Design, awarded in 2005 from Reading University and is also a Chartered Engineer and fellow of the IET. Prior to joining JPMC, Ashley was Managing Director with CS Technology, a specialist consultancy in the design and operation of Mission Critical Facilities. Ashley has held senior management positions with Deutsche Bank and Morgan Stanley.

Tony Bright, IS Strategy Manager, has worked for the British Council, the UK's cultural relations organisation, for 14 years.  In that time he has worked in South Korea, Japan, Portugal and is currently working in sunny Manchester.  He has a keen interest in green issues and graduated from Royal Holloway in 1989 with a Biology degree which had a strong focus on conservation and environmental issues.  

James Hayes is IT Editor of Engineering & Technology magazine, and regularly covers green IT issues. He has been an IT and business journalist for over 20 years, and previous edited the publications Information Professional, Network News, Communications News, Datacom, and the broadband portal DSL Times.

Victor Smith is the EMEA Technical Work Group Chair in The Green Grid, a global consortium dedicated to advancing energy efficiency in data centres and business computing ecosystems.  The Green Grid's scope includes collaboration with end users and government organisations worldwide to ensure that each organisational goal is aligned with both developers and users of data center technology.

John Killey is Managing Director and Head of Citi Realty Services managing Citi’s portfolio of over 11.5 million square feet, in 1221 properties in the 56 countries of  Europe, Middle East and Africa.  In addition John is the co head of the Citi Realty Services Global Sustainability Group which is managing CRS’s efforts in sustainable real estate management.

Paul Huggins has been with the trust since 2005 and as Head of ECA he currently leads one of the financial services offered by the Carbon Trust Solutions business.    He advises Government on the policy implementation of financial incentives; provides technology leadership for the Energy Technology List and across the Solutions business; and is a champion of current generation energy saving technologies including ICT.

Andrew Jones, RCDD has been involved in the IT industry since 1986 where he pioneered pre-terminated structured cabling at ADS Technologies. Twenty years later the process is being used to cable some of the UK’s largest buildings and data centres. In recent years he has focused on new technologies to reduce energy consumption with a particular focus on data centres.

After completing her MSc is in Biomedical science, Kate joined Arthur Andersen business consulting as IT consultant. She went on to head business development for Easyspace Ltd and subsequently formed Memset Dedicated Hosting with her brother, Nick, in late 2002 with the UK's first main-stream virtual dedicated server product. Today, Memset is a leading managed hosting / utility computing provider.

Mark McGinn is the Managing Director of Verismic Software. Over 10 years working as a leader in the Systems Management industry has given Mark a unique insight into the needs of organizations and the flexibility required to meet them. As Chief Architect of the Verismic Solutions Mark has built Verismic to be ‘Precision Engineering for Systems Management’ led by the innovative Verismic Power Manager.
